Tanya’s Blogging Questions

Is it a good idea to use a blog for university library’s staff news?

Is RSS feed immediate (which would make getting internal library news easiest)?

How bad is it to turn off “comments?”

Turning off comments is probably not a good idea. You don’t have to respond to all comments, but it is a good idea to know what perceptions and opinions are out there. Kivi says, ” You must be open to people commenting about your organizations. You can pretend there is not negativity about your organization, but you will not advance your cause if you don’t address opposition.”

A blog lets a staff share information and ideas.

It is a GOOD idea to delete blogs that are inappropriate or unhelpful.
