I think this was a very interesting day. I’m not sure that it needs to be this long of a course. A lot of time was spent on learning how to navigate around in Wordpress. I could tell for some participants that they needed help to find their way around. I’m pretty web savvy so it felt long to me. It would have been nice too to see some examples of other blog platforms (blogger, etc.)

I enjoyed and greatly benefitted from this class. I think it would be a good idea if the course description better defined the level of Internet saavy required. Maybe a sheet of definitions provided before the class might make it easier for the instructor and the students.

I had trouble keeping up with where you were some times. On unfamiliar ground I am better receiving one set of instructions at a time. I got confused when we did several.

Content and instructions was very good. I hope to participate in another one of your classes.

Lack of paper not a problem for me.

    Hello, it’s Victoria.

The class had so much useful information and was a great introduction.

I did get a little bleary-eyed while we were reviewing all the different blogs you had linked to. It was great to read them, and I don’t know that you should use fewer examples — more examples are very helpful with something like this. I don’t know if there is a better way to present this, or if I was just drowsy because it was right after lunch.

I THINK (but I am not sure) it would be easier if we did all of our own blog creation and posting and commenting at one time, rather than jumping back and forth between one thing and another. Maybe if we stuck to just posting and commenting through your blog before lunch, and did all of our own blog stuff after lunch, or something like that.

A great class, although the longer I sat here the more I realized that I will probably never use this technology! However, every class I take I have learned more about types of writing and ideas for writing and presenting information — so it’s very useful.

Thanks so much. Best wishes to you!

I think I’m okay with not having more time for exercises. Because I’m already blogging some, and I’m not using blog in conventional way (I’m using it for staff newsletter), I was more interested in the concepts, etc.

The amount of material covered and the resources to which we were referred was wonderful. It seemed rushed but NOT in an awful way. It just seems we could have spent even more time on questions and answers. Class could have been an hour or more longer (though we would have needed another break or two).

On another day, I might have been unhappy about not receiving paper handout. But today I feel totally okay with it (only if we can print out the whole thing elsewhere–some days I just have to have resources on paper).

Course was very informative. I feel I can make a much better decision about whether to blog or not to blog for my nonprofit. As for handouts, I am glad to not have more paper to take back to the office, however, I did take notes and it would be good to have a hard copy of the outline so I could make my notes next to the appropriate subject. It was sometimes a little hard to follow the navigation from the course outline to the websites being discussed. I think there was an assumption that we all had similiar web skills. This was not too bad because the class was small.

For a first time class, I am very impressed. Kivi’s laid back style was very interactive and allowed for good discussion. I already have my Duke Certificate, but I am very glad I took the extra time to take this additional class.

If our nonprofit would ever be in the position to hire a consultant, I would certainly consider calling on Kivi.
